Spoke about individual secure choice retirement plan

“we have seven and a half million workers here in California whose employers don’t provide them with any type of retirement plan so what secure choice would have done is provided these employees with an option opportunity to participate in a program start off with Treasuries and then later in our ra”

We need to allow Americans to be able to take care of themselves

” we have people struggling today here in California we have people struggling we’re going to have an impending retirement crisis we know how how stretch Social Security and Medicare is going to be we need people that have better financial wherewithal let people come up with plans to take care”

California’s finances are delicate

“California’s finances are delicate even though we have the most robust economic recovery today in the United States of America we are delicately balanced right right the governor’s working really hard to build up a rainy day fund his numbers and is 2017 budget at the end of the year would be 7.9 million dollars but if you have any pullback that we will experience with the partial repeal of the Affordable Care Act like whether it’s three billion whether it’s five billion dollars those are real numbers that have impacted communities throughout California ”

State spending has continually escalated

“i watch the way our state has continually just escalated on the spending side there i mean i think when we had the crash grip maybe our state budget or of general fund with 103 billion or something is like 179 now it’s up its way out there although i’m just saying i think that at some point we have to have some economies”

My goal is to get people employed

“my goal the board is to get people employed and working and I really want to see some of those some of those well-paying jobs to stay in the state of California I’m tired of hearing people taking off and going out of state and so you know in as much as tax reform happens a little bit on the federal level that will allow repatriation of dollars look I think that will help tremendous”
